Introducing the best chicken tenders and wings in Myrtle Beach. The Chicken Joint is a fresh casual restaurant in Socastee, SC that combines Asian and Southern cooking styles to bring you something you won't find anywhere else in the Myrtle Beach area. No shortcuts. No freezer bags. Just freshly made chicken wings & tenders, bold flavors, house-made ranch crafted with care, and a scratch kitchen that means it.

Our chicken wings and chicken tenders are made with fresh, never-frozen chicken — period. Every tender is marinated 24 hours Southern-style in buttermilk and spices, then hand-breaded in an Asian-style batter and coated with Japanese panko breadcrumbs. Fried to order and served with a lineup of house-made sauces and dips, including our signature spicy mustard and house-made ranch.
This is katsu-style technique meets Southern soul — and there's nothing else like it in Myrtle Beach. Our wings are marinated 24 hours in our special marinade and fried to crispy perfection.
Rounding out the menu: homemade pimento cheese, Southern-style chicken salad, chicken bog, and our scratch-made banana pudding. Fresh, Casual, Gourmet — that's the mantra, and we mean every word of it.
Our Story
The Chicken Joint didn't start in a restaurant — it started at a small space at a campground with a walk up window. It's run by a father & son team. Before the brick-and-mortar, before the line out the door, we were proving the concept at Lakewood Campground, hand-breading every order and watching people come back for more. That was enough to know we were onto something. We new that there was a need for a family friendly place to get elevated wings and tenders.
What happened next wasn't easy. While we were trying to get this off the ground, Will was diagnosed with cancer. Then Curtis's mother — Will's wife — who was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer's continued to decline. For a while, we brought her to work with us, because that's what you do. She passed away before she got to see what this became. Will fought through a stem cell transplant, went into remission, came out of remission, and last year underwent a CAR T cell transplant that seems to have worked. And he's back.
Through all of it, Curtis ran the show. He kept the doors open, kept the standards up, and kept this family's dream alive. Last month, he became a full partner — because he'd already earned it a hundred times over.
This is a family operation in every sense of the word. And we were here first — before Slim Chickens, before Wingstop, before the chains moved in — because Will saw a market that deserved a fresh, family-friendly place to get great chicken. That vision didn't waver, even when everything else did.
